Thursday September 17th –  Let’s get this party started!

Knot Your Average Picnic -  6 PM

Join Beagle Bay Knot Works as they welcome the early arriving knotters to the Lake Erie Shores and Islands Region.  Located 7.3 miles from the Hotel, Randy and Christine invite you to unwind from your travels and enjoy a complimentary cook-out of burgers, brats and refreshments.  There is no charge for this evening, however, please register on the event registration to provide a count for planning purposes.

Friday September 18th – Excursion Day

9:30 AM – 11 AM 

Private tour of Marblehead Lighthouse State Park

visit the grounds of the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the Great Lakes.   Climb to the top for a spectacular view of the Lake Erie Islands, tour the replica Life Saving Station complete with US Coast Guard activities museum and grab a souvenir from the Gift Shop. https://www.marbleheadohio.org/community/page/marblehead-lighthouse

Put in Bay Jet Express Ferry to South  Bass Island, Put-in-Bay Ohio

Spend the day with us at Put-in-Bay.  Historically known for the Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial  This National Park holds the 352 foot marble spire honoring all who fought and died there on September 10, 1813.  The decisive Naval battle in the War of 1812 fought in the Lake Erie Waters, was the turning point for victory over the British.  This charming island is also home to  many restaurants, shops, aquatic center, caves and winery’s.  Group ticket pricing has been reserved, register for your round trip discounted ticket on the event registration.  We are tentatively planning to return to the mainland on the 6:30 PM ferry, but you  may return on any Ferry scheduled that day.

AGM 10 AM – 4 PM,  Business Meeting 5 PM-6PM,  Knot Tyers Supper 6:30

Maritime Museum of Sandusky

              9:00 AM –Pre-Meeting Kickoff for the Members of the Sandusky Maritime Museum -  Intro to IGKTNA and IGKT –  by President Jim Wolf, Secretary Randy Crawford and Board Member Pete Gorelick

              10:00 AM – AGM and Museum Open

              10:15 AM – Bell Rope Work Shop – Randy Crawford

              11:30 AM – Global Knot Connection- Video Call with Mid-Year IGKT Mtg in Finland

              12:15 PM – Soft Shackle vs Steel Shackle – Keith Hudson

              1:00 PM – Chest Beckets – Erika Hamer

              2:30 PM -  Globe Knots – Ray Martel

Ongoing Public Presentations through-out the day :

              Rope Making, Flemished Loop, MayFly Tie, and make your own Yo-Yo String for an exclusive IGKTNA Yo-yo.

              Member Presentations and Displays – Please register for your table on the event registration- no charge for a table but a count is needed.

Knotter’s Competitions-

               Creative Competition: - Covered Bottle.  Be sure to enter 1 covered bottle in this inaugural competition.  It must be tied by an IGKTNA Member and must have been tied since September of 2024.  The bottles will be on public display for the meeting and the winner crowned at the Knot Tyers Supper.

              President’s Lanyard Competition -  Customize your own credentials lanyard to showcase your favorite knots and skill.  Judged by your Guild President, Jim Wolf, bragging rights and swag will be awarded at Dinner Saturday Evening.

              4:00 PM – AGM Closes- Clean up and Break – Refreshments available

              5:00 PM – Business Meeting

              6:30 PM – Knot Tyers Supper, Famous Raffle and Awards
